Metropolitan Community Church

About UFMCC

 Since it is founding in 1968, UFMCC (Universal Fellowship of Metropolitan Churches) has grown into a denomination of over 300 congregations in 16 countries throughout the world. In many small communities, the MCC church is the only local lesbian and gay-affirming organization. MCC has been instrumental in creating conversation in the wider Christian church around the issue of homosexuality and have offered hope to many who struggle with reconciling their faith and their sexual orientation or that of someone they love.

Beginning in January of 2003 UFMCC transitioned from districts to regions. Currently, MCC of the Redwood Empire is a part of Region 1. Our Regional Elder is Rev. Elder Debbie Martin.  Our region encompasses Australia, Bangladesh, Brunei, Cambodia, Westeren Canada, China, Micronesia, Fiji, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Japan, Laos, Malaysia, Mongolia, Myanmar, Nepal, North and South Korea, Pakistan, Papua, New Guinea, New Zealand, Philippines, Eastern Russia, Sri Lanka, Sumatra, Taiwan, Thailand, Vanuatu, Viet Nam and the U.S. states of Alaska, Washington, Oregon, Nevada, California, and Hawaii.
